The Realspace story.
The origin
Realspace was born out of a requirement to interactively visualise highly accurate large-scale masterplans & infrastructural projects. Built on the Real-time engine "Esperient 3.5" by Right Hemisphere the team had yet to dip their toes into developing using Unreal Engine 4, which was still 6 years away from being available.
First architectural interior
Using a game controller we developed our first Architectural interior directly within Unreal engine 4.1.
Realspace 1.0
Designed for touch screen TVs, Realspace was designed specifically for sales agents to walkthrough & present unbuilt property using the onscreen joystick & present multiple materials & finishes using the material change.
View level changer
Instant render to email function were a hit with Real Estate agents able to email views from any level in any room. Integrated with virtual reality headsets.
Full UI redesign
Fully redesigned interface that included removal of the on screen joystick in favour of clicking the floor to navigate to the next location with an onscreen floor plan informing the viewer with where they were located.
Further integration
Content managed backend & a new gallery system. Further improvements to ease of navigation including iPad remote control & a new floor plan navigation tool allowing the presenter to simply click a point on the floor plan & be automatically walked to the location.
